ABOUT US

Brazilian native Gaby Alonso-Carmona moved to Chicago in 1998 and quickly fell in love with the city. She holds a bachelor's degree in interior design from LSU and furthered her education in computer-aided design and 3D graphics. In 2000, she began her career at McDonald’s Corporation, where she contributed to creating interior material standards and elevating design concepts. Later, she joined Aria Group Architects, working on restaurant projects for brands like Pinstripes, Lettuce Entertain You, and P.F. Chang's. Seeking to broaden her expertise, Gaby transitioned to 555 International, designing for prestigious clients such as Hard Rock Hotel and the Dallas Cowboys.

In 2017, Gaby founded Urban 1111 Design, a multidisciplinary studio that solves operational challenges and creates unique, customer-focused spaces. Recognized for her technical expertise and client-focused approach, Gaby continues to grow her firm, emphasizing authentic design, strong collaborations, and continuous innovation.
